| Titanium slag Factory to receive Mr. Truong Tan Sang |

Afternoon 16 Oct 2009, Mr. Truong Tan Sang – Commissioner of the Politburo, Standing Member of the Central Party Secretariat – paid a visit to the Titanium slag Factory of Saigon-Quy Nhon Minerals Corporation (SQC, member of Saigon Invest Group - SGI). His entourage included Mr. Vu Hoang Ha – President of Binh Dinh Province and other leaders from various departments. Receiving Mr. Truong Tan Sang, there were Ms. Nguyen Tran Trieu Thanh – CEO of SQC, Mr. Chau Kin Hang Kelvin (Kelvin Chau) – Deputy CEO of SQC, Mr. Dang Nhut – SGI's Deputy Chairman, and the whole staff of SQC. Mr. Truong Tan Sang visited the manufacturing zone and the titanium products zone of SQC. He paid special attention to the production process, the input materials as well as the output products in the market. His questions were addressed specifically by Ms. Nguyen Tran Trieu Thanh and Mr. Kelvin Chau in order for him to comprehend the titanium exploiting model of SQC as well as the values this mineral brought to improve the economic position of Binh Dinh and the whole country in general. Furthermore, on this occasion, Mr. Truong Tan Sang planted a commemorative tree at SQC to show his feelings towards the staff. On behalf of SQC, Ms. Trieu Thanh expressed her gratitude and happiness towards his visit to SQC and the consideration he gave. Titanium slag factory is among the largest-scale projects of SQC. This is also the most modern slag factory in Vietnam. The capacity of phase 1 (including 2 furnaces) is 24,000 tons with the clarity of up to 93% - so far the best clarity in Vietnam. Besides, the Factory will also produce 12,000 tons of high-endurance iron per year. In Phase 2, three more furnaces will be added, increasing the capacity by 36,000 tons of Titanium slag (clarity 93%) and 18,000 tons of high-endurance iron per year. In total, the capacity of these 5 furnaces reaches 60,000 tons of Titanium slag and 30,000 tons of iron per year. Thuy Trinh |
