On December 17, 2009, 100 million shares of Saigon - Quy Nhon Mining Corporation with the stock code SQC.

Saigon - Quy Nhon Mining Corporation (SQC), member of Saigon Invest Group (SGI), member of International Titanium Association, was founded in 2006 , specializing in mining, processing Titanium ores and Titanium products; Building and transferring technology; Investing, constructing and trading infrastructure of the Industrial Group for Titanium deep-processing; etc.

The world’s demand of Titanium is increasing because this metal is as hard yet less heavy than steel (60%) with fine flexibility, anti-corrosion and high endurance to withstand very high temperatures. Currently, Titan is used a lot in three areas: Industrial, Medical and Aerospace. The value of products from Titanium mineral deposits is gradually being proved, especially when the economy has recovered after the crisis phase.

In order to catch up with this huge demand, SQC has invested, built and operated successfully the Titanium Slag Manufacture Period 1. Inaugurated on July 24, 2009 and built on an area of 10 hectares, the plant has an output of 60,000 tons of slag and 30,000 tons of cast iron per year – by far the biggest plant with the most modern technology in Vietnam. The 6,300KVA furnace system has the biggest output among furnaces with the same technology presently. Therefore, its specifications and consumption indicators are optimal, for example the electricity consumption per one ton decreases by 23% compared to 2,500KVA furnaces. From Titanium slag, other products can be developed in various directions, such as Pigment, Titanium dioxide, Sponge and Titanium Alloy, etc.

Even with its own experts in the field of mining and processing titanium, SQC has been promoting cooperation with other professionals, agencies and research institutes around the world to acquire the best technology to progress to the production of titanium alloy, the material of the 21st century. Meanwhile, the export value will multiply by hundreds compared with other products presently.

In the process of development, while choosing technology, installing production lines and improving machinery and equipment, SQC always pays attention to the environment. Therefore, SQC has decided to use a high-capacity exhaust treatment system, which makes up 30% the total investment of the plant, in order to be the most sanitary plant in Vietnam. Consequently, when visiting the plant, some experienced foreign experts have recognized it among the best plants in Asia.

With available advantages and resources and the ceaseless efforts of experts, technicians and managers of the Group and the Corporation, we are determined to become the leading company in the field of mining and deep-processing products from Titanium ores in Vietnam, integrating to be vocal in the Titanium industry of the world. The admission into the International Titanium Association has affirmed this resolution.

This listing is a significant milestone, marking the gigantic progress and maturity of SQC.
